Payment Options
Mermaid Dental Studio is a privately billing practice and requires upfront payment of accounts on the day unless a prior arrangement has been made. We do however offer the convenience of Hicaps availability for on-the-spot health fund rebates for any health fund. We accept all health funds and our team can take the complexity out of claiming back your health fund benefits when we make the claim for you on the day.
At Mermaid Dental Studio, 2 of our dentists, Dr Simone Lancaster & Dr Ray Stewart are HCF more for teeth providers, we also offer Denticare payment plans and we accept the Medicare Childrens Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) where eligible children will be bulk billed for their dental work. HCF more for teeth program
Dr Lancaster and Dr Stewart are part of the HCF More for Teeth Program
This means fully covered dental exams, x-rays, cleans and other diagnostic and preventive services to eligible HCF members.
*Hicaps claims for HCF patients can be made with other dentists but rebates may not be as high.
Treatments include:
- 1 check-up per calendar year
- Scale and clean
- Fluoride treatment
- Mouthguards

Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme
Medicare will cover up to $1052 over 2 calendar years for basic dental services for children under the CDBS.
Some of the services provided under this scheme include:
- Check-ups
- X-rays
- Cleaning
- Fissure sealing
- Fillings
- Root canals
- Extractions
This scheme covers part or the full cost of these treatments.
- 0 to 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year
- Eligible for Medicare
- Receiving a payment from Medicare at least once a year OR have a parent getting a payment from Medicare at least once a year
